The memory of a lost love. A wicked rival. An angel of vengeance. A hellish fiend. All these and more haunt Poe to his death.
In his last days, famed author Edgar Allan Poe is riddled with tragedy and torment. When he stumbles upon a mysterious friend, he recounts two intertwining narratives spanning from his youth to just hours ago that have lead to his current state of despair and his impending doom.
You're invited to embark on this story of love, injustice, denial, revenge, and grief. Witness as trauma and psychosis bring one man's soul to the brink of the precipice! But with shades of the supernatural and with betrayal around the corner, how much of what you are told is even real? How does Poe ultimately meet his end? And who is truly delivering the final haunting?
That, dear audience, is for you to decide.
reviews from the 2024 ATL Fringe Audio Festival:
"A chilling story of a man falling to despair and neurosis, The Final Haunting of Edgar A. Poe is a strong one-man performance that breathes new life into the Old Master of Horror's works."
"I can't say enough about the ... performance. A lesser actor would not have been able to do justice to the writing."
"A very clever remix of Poe's life and works, the show captures the macabre sensibilities of the author's work. The pacing is well done, and the vocal performance a stand-out. I was impressed with how natural the show's delivery of Poe's text was."
